Upcoming Tattoo Conventions and Shows
One of the most common misconceptions with today’s tattoo collector is that an artist needs to be on TV in order to be good at tattooing. This type of thinking is so far from the truth and we can thank all these TV networks for making people think this. Sure there are some talented artists on TV, we have interviewed some over the year but your local shops across America are full of talented artists waiting to tattoo you. Back before Miami Ink (which we loved watching) aired on TV the only way to find an artist was either word of mouth or to see an interview with a Biker’s magazine.
Tattoo conventions and shows are now one of the best ways to find a talented artist in the style of tattooing you are interested in. There are so many conventions now with the popularity of tattoos so do your research on which ones are worth attending and supporting. As in any industry, you have some people who put their hearts and souls into their passion while a few look to make a quick buck. The conventions looking for a quick buck are usually spotted easily and in my personal opinion are not worth attending. On the other hand, the shows put on by passionate artists and collectors are not only worth attending but supporting.
Some of our favorite conventions and shows have been scheduled and coming up. Now this by no means is a complete list or the only shows to attend, these are ones that we have either personally attended or on our “list” to attend in the near future.
