Our Artist Spotlight is with Dongkyu Lee, better known as Qtattoo of Forever Young Ink in Toronto, Canada. Qtattoo is originally from Seoul, South Korea and has been taking the tattoo community by storm. A storm of killer tattoos that is. We caught up with Qtattoo to discuss tattooing.
How long have you been tattooing for?
I started my apprentice in 2011, so I been tattooing for approx 5 years now.
Did you always want to be a tattoo artist? Have you always been into art?
I have majored in Art from the University and decided to be a tattoo artist while I was serving in the army.

In this Artist Spotlight we caught up with Steve LaMantia of Ever After Gallery located in Spring Hill, Florida. Steve’s neo traditional tattoos and clean work has earned him a great reputation in the tattoo community. We caught up with Steve between appointments and construction of his new shop, Ever After Gallery.
You have been tattooing since 2003; how did you first get involved in tattooing?
By accident. I have a degree in Graphic Design and thought that’s what I wanted to do. After college I spent a few years doing graphic art and actually hated it. I went to get tattooed by a friend of mine and was bitching to him about my job. Knowing that I had artistic ability, he asked if I’ve ever thought about tattooing and offered an apprenticeship. Claire Reid of Ajna Tattoo, Australia
Our Artist Spotlight is with Claire Reid of Ajna Tattoo. In keeping with our promise of bringing more international artists to everyone, Claire’s studio is located in New South Wales, Australia. The studio’s name may sound familiar to you and it should, we interviewed another talented artist from their last year – Jacob Gwynn. Claire’s artwork in the style of color realism is simply breathtaking. We caught up with Claire as she traveled doing guest spots here in the states.
We know you have been tattooing for a decade; how did you get into tattooing?
Yes, I started tattooing in 2005 just after I finished my studies at the University. I was piercing at the time and really wanted to learn how to tattoo but my boss didn’t think that my art was good enough. One of the other tattoo artists had seen my sketchbook where I was doodling characters in ball point pen and he thought that I had a style. So he convinced my boss into letting me be an apprentice, there was one catch; if I couldn’t learn to tattoo in six weeks I had to go back to piercing.
