Our Artist Spotlight is on Jeff Covell of Twisted Image Tattoos. Jeff owns and operates two shops in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Jeff’s work has been in over 25 publications and has won many awards over his 20 years of tattooing. He is a member of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists and the Florida Professional Tattoo Artist Guild. His work is truly amazing on and off the human body; we are proud to feature him.

Another Tattoo: At what age did you first get tattooed? What was it?
Jeff: Technically, I got my first tattoo at fourteen. I tattooed my hand in school one day, hiding by the phones at lunchtime, it was my girlfriend’s name, thankfully she had a three letter name. I was stoked that I had tattooed myself, so I showed her right away, she broke up with me the next day cause she thought I was a weirdo for tattooing her name on myself. Another Tattoo: How long have you been tattooing for?
Paul: I have been tattooing for 19 years this year.
Another Tattoo: How old were you when you got your first tattoo? What was it?

Interview with Vinnie Myers
Last week we posted an article called “Tattoos & Breast Cancer” where tattoo artist Vinnie Myers helped breast cancer survivors in their healing process by performing medical tattoos. We caught up with Vinnie by phone about his work.
Another Tattoo: We know you started tattooing in the 80’s while you were a medic in the US Army. Were you self-taught or did you study under someone?
Vinnie Myers: I am self-taught, my roommate at the time (while stationed in Korea) was heavily tattooed and I made a homemade machine to start with. It was not until after I got out of the service that I bought professional equipment. Continue reading Interview with Vinnie Myers
