In life sometimes you meet, talk or read about someone that earns your respect as a person and an artist. In our case we are talking, well writing about Luke Wessman from Wooster Street Social Club in NYC (SOHO section). Luke’s outlook on hard work, tattooing and woman makes him a gentlemen among men. I think his Facebook page sums it up perfectly:
“Grew up poor with a selfless mother and a working class father. Went to the school of hard knocks…..but I would not change a thing for fear I would not be the man that I am today. I learned; Humility from my poverty, Love from my mother, Art from my father, Friendship from my friends, Respect from the OGs in the hood, and Success from my self. I believe in… do unto others as I would want done unto me.”
Our artist spotlight is on Jason Clay Dunn of Tattoo Alchemy, located in Montclair, CA . Most people know Jason from competing in season 3 of Ink Master. Jason is known for his unique twist on Asian style of tattooing. Jason has been traveling doing some tattoo conventions and just got back from New York City for the live episode of Ink Master.
In this Artist Spotlight, we spoke with Jessica V. (Veprovsky) of Sacred Tattoo. You can find Sacred Tattoo in NYC at 424 Broadway (2nd Floor between Canal & Howard). We caught up with Jessica after returning home from the Inked Out NJ Tattoo Show.
AnoTat2: I know you have been tattooing since 2005, how did you start?
Jessica: I’ve been drawing since I was a kid, but honestly never thought I’d be a tattoo artist! I went to school for graphic design but it didn’t give me the creative freedom I needed to keep me motivated. I started getting tattooed as soon as I was 18, I couldn’t wait!!! I then ended up hanging around at a shop in Sayville, Long Island, and the rest is history! I absolutely fell in love with the industry and the people involved. I feel lucky every day to be able to do what I love! Continue reading Jessica V. (Veprovsky) of Sacred Tattoo, NYC→
