Roland Pacheco of Xisle Custom Tattoo
This week’s Artist Spotlight is on Roland Pacheco of Xisle Custom Tattoo, located in the small Hawaiian town of Hawi. Roland Pacheco specializes in the Polynesian style of tattooing. He may look familiar if you watched season 4 of Spike TV’s Ink Master. We caught up with Roland to talk about his artwork and his book Fundamentals of Traditional and Modern Polynesian Tattoo.
You have been tattooing for about 10 years now, has tattooing always been something that you wanted to do?
The short answer is, yes, however, I never set out to be a tattoo artist as much as I had been ‘guided’ by my own actions to become one. I know it sounds strange but it was as if all of the things that I had done, up to that point in my life in regards to art, was leading me to apply all of those things into becoming a tattoo artist. Lydia Bruno of Wyld Chyld Tattoo
This weeks Artist Spotlight, we caught up with Lydia Bruno of Wyld Chyld Tattoo (Sarah Miller’s Wyld Chyld Tattoo). Lydia Bruno has over 9 years of experience tattooing and has a very impressive art portfolio. Lydia Bruno was also on Spike TV’s Ink Master on Season 4 but was eliminated on episode 8.Most people remember episode 8 as the show Kyle Dunbar has enough with the judges and walks off the set. We caught up with Lydia to see what she has been up to since her time on Ink Master.
How long have you been tattooing for?
I have been in the industry tattooing for 10 years. 1 of which was my apprenticeship and 6 spent working in a street shop, I started studying and truly understanding the medium 7 years into it and continue to stay hungry, learn and push myself. Continue reading Lydia Bruno of Wyld Chyld Tattoo
