Romeo Lacoste Our Artist Spotlight is with Romeo Lacoste of Art & Soul Tattoo in LA.  You may remember Romeo from season 3 of Best Ink in which he was eliminated in episode 8 and sent home. Since being sent home Romeo has been tattooing with  Alayna Magnan, also a season 3 artist in LA.  We caught up with Romeo for a one on one interview.

AnoTat2:  When did you start tattooing? How did you get started?

Romeo:  I wanted to be a tattoo artist at 17.  I didn’t get my first apprenticeship till 18, some drama fell thru at the shop and I had to get a different apprenticeship. My apprenticeship didn’t finish till I was about 21. Continue reading Romeo Lacoste

You may remember DJ from Season 2 of Best Ink where he was runner up after Teresa Sharpe took the title of Best Ink.  You can see DJ tattooing in NV or at one of the numerous tattoo conventions and expos around the country.  We caught up with DJ between clients and traveling for a one on one interview.

AnoTat2:  When did you start tattooing? How did you get started?

DJ:  I started tattooing at the age of 14 unprofessionally, doing hand poked tattoos on myself and friends for extra money or whatever they wanted to trade for tattoos. At that point I didn’t care I just wanted to tattoo. I stole a bottle of Indian ink from art class, a needle from a sewing kit and started poking away. Continue reading DJ Tambe

Teresa Sharpe Best Ink winner season2In this week’s Artist Spotlight we caught up with Teresa Sharpe, Best Ink winner season 2.  Teresa is a talented artist who works out of Studio 13 Tattoo in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Teresa went to the Millikin University in Decatur Illinois for art and graduated with a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in 2007.  Shortly after this she went on to find an apprenticeship to become a tattoo artist.

We caught up with Teresa between tattoo appointments for a phone interview. This is what Teresa had to say:
